It’s been about two years since I’ve left my sunny California state, and chose you. You welcomed me the best way you knew how. Museums and beautiful parks, coffee shops and warm scones on every corner– trying to hide the fact that it’s often cloudy and rainy. At first I resisted you, but you wore me down.
Instead of complaining about the rain, I now enjoy watching raindrops on windows. I look forward to spotting the rare rainbow that peeps out after a shower.
Instead of missing my car, I now enjoy sitting in that big double-decker red. Driving has been replaced by day-dreaming, reading, and people-watching.
Instead of being sad about having to walk all around town, I now enjoy strolls (even sometimes in the rain). I’ve added to my shoe collection with lots of flat heels and sneakers.
Instead of worrying about where my career is headed, I now realize that this time to myself is the best thing that’s ever happened to me.
I know that He has a plan for me.
Instead of wondering why I am in London, I now think of this as my city. I am finally starting to embrace this place, and ready to call it home.
