This is my “Frugale Fashion” series. I will show you how to look like a millions bucks without having to spend much at all. Enjoy!!
When I see something incredible in a magazine spread or on the runway, the image usually stays with me. It’s usually a color, a print, or the details. We all know that details make an outfit! In this case, do you remember the Roberto Cavalli dress* that Beyonce wore? Amazing isn’t it? The color is so vibrant and rich. I loved it~ (swoon)
And who can forget the yellow Vetements** dress that Rihanna wore? The prints were so great!
Additionally, I recently came across this Gucci mustard ruffle blouse. That contrast black neck tie detail? LOVE~
But, let’s be honest for a second. As much as I love these pieces, they do not go with my philosophy of spending money on investment pieces like shoes and purses. So, I made it a mission to go find something similar to all the elements that I love about all these pieces, without breaking the bank. And voila! Was I lucky or what? Color, yes. Prints, almost. Contrast neck tie, check. The icing on the cake, this top costs just £36.00!
This mustard ruffle blouse has almost every element I was looking for, at a price that I simply couldn’t resist. I mean, seriously, how great is this find? Though it isn’t exactly comparable, I was able to save lots of money and get the look I wanted. That is how you shop smart!
The cold shoulder also makes it a nice trending piece right now, with all things off-shoulder and cutouts. My gripe was that it cuts in a bit too far, so I had to style it with my mesh strap bralette.
I think that yellow goes really nicely with all these neutral, so naturally I decided to bring out my Saint Laurent tote. I know that this purse is a bit pricey, but it’s very versatile and you will see me use it a lot. Fashion math and investment piece, trust me. I’ll talk about it in a later post.
I finished off the look with my favorite pair of rose-gold brogues, they are abnormally comfy~~ which are a must for shoes in my (now) cobble-stone world!
I can’t leave you without some sleeve details, right?
